This diversity and equality training course is ideal for Training Managers, Facilitators, HR Teams, Equality & Diversity Teams and Managers who will be responsible for training people who report to them. This train-the-trainer sexual orientation diversity training course will give you an in-depth view of sexual orientation training based on our ‘Sexual Orientation In The Workplace’ course. It has a special focus on how to use, deliver and implement Respecting Diversity: Sexual Orientation training in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the meaning of homophobia and the different types of workplace bullying
  • Be able to spot signs of stress and how to deal with it
  • Realise the damaging effects of stereotyping, unconscious bias, patronisation and making assumptions
  • Identify ways to ensure that confidential information is handled sensitively
  • Be able to identify the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour in the workplace
  • Know the meaning of direct and indirect discrimination
  • Be able to support colleagues who ‘come out’ at work
  • Prepare a personal action plan for transferring the learning into the workplace
  • Trainers will be confident in applying key equalities legislation, making the business case for Diversity and Equality, using language required in this course, and understanding issues course delegates are likely to bring.

Some basic pre course work is required for this diversity and equality training. Our trainer will discuss these requirements in plenty of time before the course date.
