New documentary celebrates the achievements of people with disabilities

We are releasing our short documentary ‘The Mandeville Legacy’ online today for schools and organisations to use for education and diversity training purposes.

The film tells the story of the pioneering techniques of Sir Ludwig Guttmann, his work with disabled men and women and the birth of the Paralympic movement.

We filmed some fresh interviews with former Paralympic athletes Caz Walton and Chris Holmes MBE, who discuss the influence of Guttmann and the legacy of Stoke Mandeville. Caz’s first games was in 1964 – where she won the first ever track event in the wheelchair race. She continued to compete until 1988, winning a total of 10 gold medals. Chris won 9 swimming gold medals and was currently the Director of Paralympics London 2012. The film is available on DVD too, contact us for more information.
